Shane Breaux ~ Resident Dramaturg
Shane Breaux is an active playwright, dramaturg, and an emerging scholar. He has worked with New York Shakespeare Exchange since its inception, having dramaturged The One Man (Two Man (not quite)) Hamlet with playwright Kevin Brewer. He also works as a dramaturg for America-in-Play, a theatre company devoted to creating new plays grounded in American theatrical history prior to World War I. He will graduate with a Masters degree in theatre history from Brooklyn College this spring and begin his doctoral studies at the City University of New York in the fall. Shane is proud to say that portions of his studies have been funded by the Friars Club--the very club that revels in dirty jokes. Shane grew up in Lake Charles, LA. and now lives in Brooklyn.
